2024 ACADIA WORKSHOPS

Designing Change

Host: University of Calgary, School of Architecture, Planning & Landscape

Date: 14-16 November 2024 I Banff Centre I Banff AB

ACADIA 2024 is pleased to invite proposals from individuals or teams for 3-day intensive in-person workshops. Workshops should engage with the conference theme, “Designing Change: {RE}defined, Engaged & Distributed”. The workshops are a forum for conference participants to learn the latest technologies used in the industry, make new connections, gain knowledge, and develop their existing skills. Workshops introduce participants to new digital design and fabrication techniques, demonstrate the transformative impact of digital design on the built environment and redefine traditional architectural practices.

Workshops will take place in-person from November 11 – 13  in downtown Calgary. We welcome proposals from researchers, practitioners, and students across diverse disciplines such as architecture, design, urban planning, geography, social sciences, computer science, engineering, and others. Proposals can leverage SAPL facilities and equipment and can provide opportunities to partner and collaborate with local industry, professionals,  entrepreneurs, designers and makers. Workshop outcomes will be presented by workshop leaders and participants at the conference and featured in the ACADIA 2024  exhibition.
